Highlight Your Industry Knowledge as an Associate MISMO Standards Professional (AMSPTM)

The process to earn an Associate MISMO Standards Professional (AMSPTM) certification requires an individual to successfully complete MISMO's Boot Camp Course and then enroll as an AMSP.  Renewal is required every 2 years with a minimum of 10 documented Participation points. See information on the calculation of points, below.

Step 1: Successfully Complete MISMO's Bootcamp Course

Step 2: Enroll in the AMSP Program

  • Participants must enroll as an AMSP candidate here. 
  • Enrollment fee is $200 for MISMO Members and $400 for Non-Members. MISMO offers a $50 discount for young professionals under 35 years of age.  Contact [email protected] for the promo code.

    Step 4: Be Recognized.

    • Successful AMSP® candidates will be recognized on mismo.org.
    • See list of Current AMSPs.

    Step 5: Maintain your Certification.

    • AMSP holders must earn a minimum of 10 participation points every two years in order to maintain their AMSP certification. 

    Candidates may earn the following Participation points:

    • 10 points for serving in a leadership position as Board member, Committee/Council/Forum Chair, Workgroup Chair or Vice Chair 
    • 5 points for serving as a workgroup representative to Information Management (IM), Architecture Workgroup of the Education Council
    • 5 points for being a published contributor to a MISMO Work Product
    • 4 points for MISMO Summit attendance (1 point per day)
    • 2 points for serving on Summit presentation panel
    • 2 points for serving on an industry panel/presentation representing MISMO topics (e.g. ALTA, PRIA, MBA or otherwise)
    • 3 points per year for Workgroup attendance (attending 66% of meetings) / 1 point per year for attending 33% of meetings
    • 5 points for serving as a MISMO Boot Camp instructor
    • 3 points for developing a MISMO Webinar / 2 points for participating in MISMO Webinar
    • 3 points for authoring a published MISMO-related industry article
    • Participants must Register to Renew their Certification. If a renewal is not completed within one year of the expiration of the certification, the participant must start the AMSP process over from the beginning (including re-taking the Bootcamp Course) in order to renew their certification.
    • Candidates must complete and submit a AMSP Renewal Candidate Form documenting a minimum of 10 participation points.
