Commercial Appraisal Dataset
MISMO is seeking public feedback on an enhancement to the existing Commercial Appraisal Dataset. The enhancement introduces JSON as an additional communication format alongside the current XML format. Importantly, the introduction of JSON does not modify the existing Commercial Appraisal Data Standard.
This enhancement stems from an initiative launched in April 2023 to explore alternative methods of delivering the Commercial Appraisal Dataset. The update provides guidance on utilizing JSON as a complementary format to XML for transmitting appraisal data. Inclusion of JSON as an additional communication format provides the opportunity for broader adoption of the standard and enables commercial lenders access to higher quality appraisal data.
As with previous commercial data standardization efforts, this work does not aim to standardize the business processes involved in the collection, exchange, or handling of appraisal information, acknowledging the diverse needs of the industry.
