MISMO Engineering Guideline (MEG) 7
MISMO®, the real estate finance industry's standards organization, today announced the publication of the updated MISMO Engineering Guideline (MEG) 7 which establishes class words that enable consistency in the naming and structure of data point names. MEG 7 was released as Final in February of 2024.
The MISMO MEGs ensure that MISMO work products adhere to all applicable technology standards, are produced in a consistent fashion, and meet the needs of the mortgage industry.
MEG 7 provides details on a list of approved class words that must make up the last component of all MISMO data point names. Class words provide consistency and clarity to data points. When the names of data points indicate the type of information they carry, practitioners can easily understand schemas, messages, and metadata using those data points.
MEG 7 was updated to Version 1.4 with changes for unit of measure attribute names, two measure types and updates to examples that align with changes from MISMO Reference Model Version 3.6.
