API Toolkit 1.0

The MISMO API (application programming interface) Toolkit, which is available to MISMO Members, will help facilitate rapid development of new products and applications across the mortgage industry.

What It Includes

The API Toolkit includes the following resources:

MISMO Engineering Guidelines for producing the OpenAPI objects out of the Logical Data Model;
The OpenAPI objects themselves;
An Implementation Guide explaining how the objects are constructed and how to use them; and,
Sample API specifications for MI Rate Quote and Credit Request.

This toolkit builds upon MISMO's JSON initiative to develop standards for consumer transactions. JSON is a lightweight language for structuring data that is frequently used to exchange information through APIs and mobile platforms. With this expanded effort, MISMO hopes to create consistency within the growing number of transactions taking place in JSON format.
